If you love discovering local businesses, unique finds, and a little bit of everything under one roof, The Collective Boutiques in Franklin, Tennessee needs to be on your list.

The space was formerly home to Painted Tree. After Painted Tree filed for bankruptcy earlier this year, more than 300 small businesses were quickly displaced. The Collective Boutiques stepped in and gave these business owners another chance to keep doing what they love.

That makes The Collective more than just another place to shop. As the name suggests, it’s a collection of independent business owners coming together under one roof—each bringing their own products, personality, and style.

You Could Spend All Day Here

I had the privilege of walking through The Collective, and I absolutely loved what I saw.

Give me an iced matcha and a credit card with no limit, and I could spend all day here.

Whether you’re searching for clothes, gifts, home décor, furniture, rugs, kids’ clothing, vintage finds, jewelry, planners, travel accessories, or just something you didn’t know you needed, there’s seemingly something around every corner.

As a Tennessee girl, I was naturally a fan of all the Tennessee Volunteers merchandise. But another stop that caught my attention was a booth called The Mahjong Collective.

Here’s the problem: I don’t even play Mahjong.

After seeing everything in their booth, though, I might have to start.

Shopping Small Made Easy

What makes The Collective special isn’t simply the variety of products. It’s knowing that behind those booths are independent business owners working to build something of their own.

Every purchase is an opportunity to support an entrepreneur and keep dollars flowing through the local community.

Whether you’ve lived in Franklin for years or you’re visiting Middle Tennessee for the first time, shopping small is one of the simplest ways to support the community around you—and The Collective couldn’t make it much easier.

So stop in, take your time, explore the booths, and discover a few Tennessee businesses you may not have known before.

And while you’re there, tell us:

Which business inside The Collective should The Volunteer meet next?
